Tuition & Policy - FAQ

Please reach us at Gamusicalarts@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Yes, a free trial lesson is available with a GMAC “FREE TRIAL LESSON” coupon.

Without a coupon, you may schedule one paid trial lesson at $30 for 30 minutes (cash only) before committing to regular weekly lessons. This gives both the student and teacher an opportunity to ensure a good fit.

If you decide to enroll for at least 6 months of study at GMAC, the $30 trial fee will be credited toward your tuition.

A non-refundable annual fee, $60 assessed at the start of each school year to support registration, scheduling, communication, and administrative operations. This fee is non-refundable and applies to all enrolled students.

GMAC operates on a 48-lesson annual calendar. Tuition is divided into 12 equal monthly payments, regardless of how many lessons fall in a given month. This ensures consistent billing and income throughout the year.

To support consistency, professional structure, and the highest quality instruction, Georgia Musical Arts Center (GMAC) operates on a flat monthly tuition model.

✅ Why a Flat Monthly Fee?

  • Tuition secures a student’s reserved time slot with their instructor each week — much like a subscription or membership.
  • It ensures predictable scheduling, simplifies billing, and promotes regular attendance.
  • Tuition is not based on the number of lessons attended, but rather on the value of holding that teaching time open exclusively for your student.

Music lessons at Georgia Musical Arts Center are typically 30 minutes, 45 minutes, or 1 hour long, depending on the student's needs and preferences.

  • 30-minute lessons: $180 & up / once a week/ month
  • 45-minute lessons: $240 & up / once a week / month
  • 60-minute lessons: $300 & up / once a week / month

Rates vary by teachers. Please contact GMAC for specific rates.

Tuition covers:

  • 48 private lessons per year
  • Recital participation
  • Ongoing communication and lesson planning
  • Recitals at School or Senior Home (upon approval by your teacher)
  • Opportunities for Auditions or Festivals (upon approval by your teacher and the registration fee will be additional charge)

Tuition is due on the 1st of each month.

Late payments may incur a late fee after a short grace period.

To avoid late fees and ensure secure, timely payments, we recommend setting up automatic credit card payments.

Lessons are scheduled weekly from August 1, 2025 to July 31, 2026, excluding designated breaks:

  • Thanksgiving Week: Nov 24–30, 2025
  • Winter Break: Dec 22, 2025 – Jan 4, 2026
  • Spring Break: April 6–12, 2026
  • Summer Break Week: July 4th week

We use Square to accept secure, easy payments. All tuition payments will be automatically charged on your credit card in file on the 1st of each month.

💳 Payment Method: Square

  • You will receive a monthly invoice through Square, with the option to:
    • Pay by credit/debit card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay
    • Save your card on file for automatic monthly billing
  • A 3% processing fee applies. If you use a credit card with cashback or rewards (e.g., Amex or Citi), this may help offset the fee.

📌 All tuition payments are securely processed and tracked through Square for consistency and transparency.

Attendance and Makeup Policy

Your student’s growth and progress are our top priority. Consistent attendance and active participation during scheduled lessons are essential for meaningful development. Frequent cancellations—especially when relying on makeups—can hinder a student’s commitment and momentum.

Each teacher reserves a dedicated time for every student and is not obligated to offer makeups during their personal time or days off. However, if a lesson must be canceled, please notify your teacher at least 48 hours in advance to be eligible for a makeup.

If a cancellation occurs with less than 24-hour notice and a makeup cannot be scheduled, the following options are available to help preserve your investment:

  1. Switch to an online lesson at the originally scheduled time.
  2. Receive alternative assignments, such as new homework or video exercises to complete at home.
  3. Have a family member attend the lesson in the student’s place.
  4. Switch lesson times with another student, if mutually agreed—please inform the teacher before making any arrangements.

Thank you for respecting our instructors’ time and supporting a consistent, uninterrupted learning experience.

There is NO refund for a no-show or forgotten lesson. You CAN’T push credits towards next month. A 48 hour notice is required. Please refer to the make up policy above.

We do not guarantee makeup lessons for student absences (illness), but we try to offer one if scheduling allows. One make-up lesson per semester may be granted with at least 24-hour advance notice. If the teacher must cancel, the lesson will always be made up.

🎶  Summer Enrollment Policy (June & July – Part of Our 12-Month Tuition Plan)

We understand families have travel plans during the summer! To support different needs while maintaining program consistency, we offer three flexible options:

Option 1: Continue Weekly Lessons (Regular Schedule or Adjusted)

  • Keep your regular spot or adjust to a flexible schedule around camps and vacations.
  • Includes in-person, online, or mixed formats.
  • Best for consistent progress and teacher continuity.

Option 2: Summer by Appointment

  • Choose a minimum of 4 lessons across June & July, scheduled flexibly based on availability.
  • No weekly commitment needed.
  • Tuition charged per lesson at regular rate.
  • Great for students who want to stay connected but have changing schedules.

Option 3: Hold Your Spot for Fall

  • Not available for summer lessons? No problem!
  • Pay a $75 hold fee to secure your time slot and teacher for fall.
  • You will not pay June & July tuition.
  • This option protects your spot for when you’re ready to resume.

🔔 Important Notes:

  • Students who do not take lessons or pay the hold fee may lose their time slot and will need to re-register based on availability in the fall.
  • We encourage all students to stay musically engaged during summer to maintain skills and motivation—even with just a few lessons!

We ask for at least 30 days’ written notice if you plan to discontinue lessons. You will be responsible for the remaining balance of tuition corresponding to the lessons your child receives during that notice period.

Yes! We offer at least two annual studio recital in the spring. Participation is encouraged but not mandatory. Additional group performance classes or competitions may also be available.

Occasional group classes, ensemble coachings, or masterclasses are offered as enrichment and may be included for current students.

  • Attend lessons on time with all materials
  • Maintain a regular home practice routine
  • Notify the teacher of any schedule conflicts 48 hours in advance
  • Treat the learning environment with respect
  • Encourage participation in studio events and recitals
