Join Our Team – Music Instructor Position at Georgia Musical Arts Center (GMAC)

Georgia Musical Arts Center (GMAC), a well-established and expanding music school in Marietta, Georgia, is seeking passionate, skilled, and creative music instructors to join our team in June 2025. With our new location opening, we are looking for professionals committed to inspiring students through high-quality music education and performance excellence.

About GMAC

Founded in 2013, GMAC has been a leader in providing comprehensive music education to students of all ages and levels. Our approach integrates strong pedagogical foundations, student psychology, and artistic development. Our instructors are supported with structured programs, performance opportunities, and a collaborative environment that nurtures both teacher and student growth.

Position Summary

We are hiring part-time music instructors across multiple disciplines including piano, guitar, voice, strings (violin & cello). Instructors will design lesson plans, teach technique and musicality, prepare students for performances and evaluations (including ABRSM and GMTA), and foster a love of music through positive, individualized instruction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality private or small group lessons in your area of expertise
  • Develop customized lesson plans that incorporate theory, technique, ear training, and expressive interpretation
  • Prepare students for recitals, evaluations, and competitions including ABRSM, GMTA, and CCMTA
  • Use child development and music psychology to adjust strategies for students of different ages and abilities
  • Foster an encouraging, inclusive classroom environment
  • Collaborate with other faculty and staff to support school-wide events and recitals
  • Communicate with families regarding student progress and goals

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in music performance, music education, or related field (Master’s or pedagogy emphasis preferred)
  • Minimum 4 years teaching experience (private or group settings)
  • Strong understanding of music pedagogy and curriculum development
  • Ability to assess student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for working with young-adult musicians and fostering creativity

Compensation and Teaching Location

Hourly Pay: $30–$50/hour, based on degree and experience

Teaching Location: GMAC East Cobb – 1240 Johnson Ferry Place, Suite A30, Marietta, GA 30068
